How fast do I have to clear my sidewalk?
In Kitchener and Waterloo, property owners must clear snow and ice from their sidewalks within 24 hours after a snowfall. Kitchener requires bare pavement and can hire a contractor and add the cost to your tax bill; Waterloo fines are $100 for a first offence and $400 after that, plus cleanup costs.
